Development Code
Title 16, known as Wasatch County Land Use and Development Code, contains standards, provisions and requirements intended to protect health, safety and welfare of the citizens by ensuring that neighbors and adjacent properties are protected from potential negative impacts in the development and use of land. It is the intent of the code to provide a means of ensuring predictability and consistency in the use of land and individual properties. Therefore, the Planning and Zoning Staff uses Title 16 for reviewing each land use development proposal in the County.
Staff Review
If you are thinking about subdividing, building or doing something with your property, consult us early before you get started. Our capable staff is more than willing to assist you with the County’s development process. We would rather help you realize your development goal than to tell you that your proposal does not meet the General Plan and Wasatch County Land Use & Development Code. Early staff involvement will determine if a proposal is reviewed by staff or scheduled before the Planning Commission.
Development Review Committee
The DRC is a select group of County personal assigned to review all aspects of the development. The purpose of this group is to provide necessary input pertaining to the request before the staff or Planning Commission. It also allows the developer to have a dialog with the departmental representatives.
Planning Commission
Will hear conditional uses, ordinance amendments, general plan amendments, density determination, road vacation, zone changes, plat amendments, road plan, preliminary and final subdivisions.
