Wasatch County Fair - 2012
Little Miss Wasatch Information
What is Little Miss Wasatch?
“Little Miss” is designed by the Miss America Program to promote confidence in girls ages 5-9. The girl who is selected as Little Miss Wasatch acts as a royalty member and spends much of her time with Miss Wasatch. This is a confidence-based program to help children gain poise, have fun, and be around positive role models. Little Miss Wasatch holds her position for a full year and therefore works with two different queens during that year. This is not a beauty pageant for children.
What does Little Miss Wasatch do?
She will accompany Miss Wasatch to her appearances, will appear on stage at Miss Wasatch with her queen, and other appearances as requested. She must be willing to perform a talent onstage at the Miss Wasatch Pageant and during Wasatch County Fair Days, as well as appear at Miss Utah in June. Your child must also be able to appear at all the venues listed above or she cannot fulfill her obligation as Little Miss and the title will be re-assigned to someone else. (Specific dates TBD.)
Are there any costs associated with Little Miss Wasatch?
Wasatch County Parks and Recreation will cover the cost of the crown for the girl who wins the title of Little Miss, and any fees associated with the Miss Utah/Miss America Organization. She will also receive two tickets to the Miss Wasatch Pageant and Miss Utah Pageant. Any other associated costs, such as her Miss Utah dress, will be the responsibility of Little Miss Wasatch and her family.
How does my child become Little Miss Wasatch?
Each girl must submit the application provided as well as a picture. It does not need to be a professional picture, as it will not be returned. The child will have a short interview with the current Miss Wasatch, the Miss Wasatch Director and the Parks & Recreation Miss Wasatch Coordinator. Interviews will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012. In the event that there are a large number of applicants, applications will be screened and selected for interviews, so please be thorough in completing the application.
What should my Child wear to her interview?
Please put your daughter in an outfit in which she feels comfortable, a dress is not necessary. We want to see your daughter’s personality, so make-up is also unnecessary, as this is not a beauty pageant. Your daughter will be asked to do a short demonstration of her talent during the interview, so she should wear clothing that will permit her to do so. No “costume” changes please.
